About Elba
Elba Ozakcay, a UCSD graduate, currently supervises student teachers in the UC San Diego Education Studies Department. Prior to retiring, Elba was an elementary teacher in San Diego, California in a Spanish/English dual immersion program. With over 25 years as an educator, Elba has taught students from diverse backgrounds and has great interest in serving language learners.
Her passion lies in developing classroom communities where children feel safe to explore, learn and grow socially, emotionally, and academically. She enjoys engaging students in mathematical inquiry and discourse and learning through play in the primary classroom.
Elba has been a presenter at CABE, NABE, and NEU Conferences and is a Seesaw Ambassador.
