
About Karyn
With over 23 years of experience as a classroom educator, Karyn brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to student’s mathematical learning. She has taught 1st through 4th grades and served as both a member of the district math committee and a lead teacher in math instruction.
Karyn holds a Master’s degree from San Diego State University, where she focused on the instructional practices of Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI). She has helped train new teachers in CGI pedagogy and practices and has presented at California Mathematics Council (CMC) conferences, sharing her insights on developing mathematical understanding in the classroom.
A passionate advocate for conceptual learning, Karyn is dedicated to helping both students and educators build a strong foundation in mathematics. She believes in empowering teachers with the tools and knowledge to create engaging, meaningful learning experiences that foster confidence and curiosity in every learner.
