About Kathleen

Dr. Kathleen L. Gallagher has been an educator since 1986. She has taught all grades, Kindergarten through Grade 8 as well as graduate courses in the Leadership Program at the University of San Diego. She received her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UCSD in 1990 and her PhD from USD in 2013. Her research focused on Student Engagement and Instructional Quality.

Kathleen was awarded The Most Outstanding Dissertation from the American Educational Research Association in 2014. Her writing has been published by the National Writing Project, the Journal of Contemporary School Psychology, the National Staff Development Council, and Math Solutions Publications. Her primary interest is to ensure all children have access to the highest quality of instruction yielding strong social-emotional development and academic achievement.
